Am in the market for a turbo and I was wondering what people's thoughts are on the Tacx Speedmaster which at £107 is fine for my budget. I'm willing to go up to say £120 but would like to spend less.
I have a turbo I was given as a present a few years ago but it's ...well, crap to be honest. It uses a fan as resistance and you can change the the resistance level but appears to make very little difference, only when you go from 1 to 7 can you notice anything. If I vary my cadence it seems to vary, it can be uneven (one pedal stroke versus another) and if I get out of the saddle for any time the resistance seems to disappear altogether. :-(
I'd love one that has a screen and a power meter but I have a dvd player and tv in the room I can use with a training video and budget doesn't allow but would like to train indoors this winter.
