I've just had, and fixed, a problem with my Tacx Bushido. I thought I'd put this up here so anyone searching for a similar fix can find it. It may apply to other Tacx models as well, I don't know.
My Bushido was connecting OK, and mounting up to the wheel OK but was reporting zero speed/power. I raised a problem with Garmin (as the Tacx owners) but no response. I also tweeted tacx_support. They came back with the usual advice about software updates - which I'd already checked, plus the following advice: check if the sidecaps on the trainer are attached well. and a picture showing what they mean by sidecaps (below).
So I squeezed the trainer, like an accordion, and there was a tiny bit of movement, a couple of mm, and it clicked back into place. So I guess this was a known fault. All working now.
