Well, after 4 years and a fair few thousand miles, my Allez is no more  cycling through town, someone decided to turn right onto a side street in front of me. Inevitable and unavoidable contact, front fork snapped, handle bars bent, gutted is an understatement.

Has anyone here been subject to this demoralising experience? At risk of sounding like a drama queen, I'm really doubting I'll be comfortable on the bike at the moment

Sorry too hear this,

I have been off'ed a few times now over the past 7 years.
Last time was Feb last year when a cop van decided to do an illegal u-turn.

But.. fortunately I am one of those type of people who just's picks myself up and get's back on the bike.

Try not to dwell on it, hard as it sounds.
It's understandable that you are not feeling comfortable getting back on the bike.
Just take it easy.

Hope you're ok.

I came off at the beginning of the month. I then went on holiday for a while. On coming back I noticed I was giving it much less welly, especially into bends. It will come back hopefully......
We'll get there eventually!

Sorry to hear of your accident.
Did the right turner stop? Have you got their details and are you going to sue their backsides off. You need a new bike at the very least.

Sorry to hear about this, hopefully you have details, I know its difficult when you come off, something happened to me today but was ok, more of a not being able to start on a 10% hill after someone pulled into my space just before a junction.
