I have a Cannondale Synapse Sora and am going to swap the rear cassette to 11-32t for a little extra help with hills. I think I may need a new rear derailleur cage and chain . Does anyone know if I need to do anything with the front mech??
Thank you.

Front Derailleur Shimano Sora, 31.8 clamp
Rear Derailleur Shimano Sora
Chain set FSA Vero, 50/34
Cassette SRAM PG-950, 11-28, 9-speed
Chain KMC Z99, 9-speed
i would be surprised if you need a new cage/hanger. I would try it first it may just work ok.
the radius is only changing by about 8mm
and cant see any reason at all why it would affect the front mech

do check when fitting though that the chain is still long enough to work from big cog to big cog. (ie 50 on front to 32 on back)

i went fro 11-23 to a 14-32 and it works fine
That's really helpful, thank you. I'm planning to fit it myself .

In the medium term, it's best to replace the chain at the same time as you replace the cassette unless the chain has less than, say, 1000km on it.
Changing the cassette will have no effect on the operation of the front derailleur.

You'll just need a new chain. Most come with spring link or quick link or whatever you want to call it. No change to FD required.
You'll need to size it so its big cog front to big cog rear (without going through the derailleur) plus two links, I think. Or you can use the mathematical method.
GCN on YouTube do a good video.
You'll also need a chain whip to remove the old cassette and Shimano removal tool. Not too difficult.
Good luck.
