Swapping Simplex for Shimano?

I've just got hold of an old Dawes Fox tourer (10 speed) and it's got a Simplex rear derailleur, but the front mech is missing.
I've got an old Raleigh (10 speed) which has a Shimano rear and front derailleurs.

Do you think I can just swap the Shimano mechs across onto the Dawes, or will I need to change the cranks and chain as well?

Any advice gratefully received!

As you've got friction shifters with the Simplex they'll work perfectly without any other alterations.

Nice! That's what I like to hear! Have to check that the shifters from the Raleigh will swap across as well, as the left shifter is also missing from the Dawes?

Assuming the shifters on both bikes are on the down tube the fitting is standard.
