1st 'Lights' thread of the year?

Got a gentle steady commute, trail and towpath that I’d like to continue during the darker months. So having plenty of lights I can be seen by, I’d like one that I can see with.

I’ve seen this site through the sponsored adverts on Facebook

http://www.supertorch.eu/en/

Looks OK? Seems to be similar to ones that were getting decent reviews last year?

My questions are

Has anyone got one and able to give an opinion?

I’m slightly nervous about one aspect of the transaction. It’s an ‘eu’ site, priced in USD. Leaves me a little confused about where it’s coming from and its priced over the magic £18 limit....Am I likely to get stung for import taxes etc?

Overpriced. Q5 LED's are old hat - It outputs 240ish lumen, which is adequate (it's what's in the Hope Vision 1) but for that torch it's too much dosh.

Look for a Trustfire 501B or 502B for £10 on ebay with a Cree U2 LED (1000 lumen if driven right - 600 plus real world output), DX.com or lightmalls You'll then need battery and charger.

Looks like ebay was my friend. Had a look at reviews which seemed to favour the 502 to the 501, due to build quality. Now paid £8 odd for a 502B, complete with battery and charger, delivered.

Now to scan around for some spare 4000mah protected batterys...
