Hi
Have done some long overdue maintenance on my fork (2020 Roscoe 6 Trek). Fork was not in good shape and had some liquid inside. I have rescued as best I can and bike is largely used for commuting.
I put the fork back together, after a really good clean, degreased and reapplied lots of slickolelum - so far so good.
On the lockout side the top bolt - the one that is hollow - does not appear to tighten fully. I am not sure if it is meant to as I cannot remember the tension when I took it off, but now it is sort of semi tight - but won't tighten any further. The lowers all seemed to tighten correctly. A couple of questions.
1) Should you tighten the lockout screw on the uppers first or after fixing on the lowers
2) Should the hollow screw on the lockout that you put the 4mm hex in to adjust the lockout be really tight - or is it not meant to get really tight.
I don't think I am that far away from it working properly - but seems I have done some not quite right.
Fork is all shiny and new now - so ignore the photo below as that was pre maintenance (it looks awful I know). The hollow screw I am referring to sits under the blue lockout cap circled in blue, which the lockout spindle sits inside of (not sure of the right terminology here). The tension of that hollowed screw is what is in question.
Any help appreciated.
Regards
Andrew
