Suntour 7 - what chain fits?

I'm coming to the conclusion that the 'Lethal Impact' bike - a 1986 Ammaco Tony Doyle - is needing a new chain.

It's running a Suntour 7 rear derailleur with Suntour shifters, so I'm guessing it's a Suntour cassette.

Chain-wise it'll be on a budget; would the Shimano HG40 fit or is there a better alternative (KMC/other ?) ?

The HG40 is a 6/7/8 (some have it down as a 5 to 8) chain so I guess that's the right size if its a 7 speed cassette. Nice and cheap too

I'd use a KMC z82 or z8S but the HG 40 should work. 5-8 speed chains are all the same size
