I was out on sunday and the brightness made it difficult for me to keep concentration on the road ahead. I found a lot of the time I was looking lower, and seeing less of what was going on around me.
I do not want to wear some wayfarers on a bike so am looking at proper 'sports glasses' any recommendations? I would prefer them to be polarised as I have realised how much of a difference this makes when changing from light/dark very quickly.

Get a good pair of glasses with different lenses, then just change the lenses for the application you are using them for.

I have a pair of these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-pro-triple-lens-sunglasses/ Perfectly good and do the job ^_^

I have these too. They come in a nice protective case and also have a little cloth bag that you can use to polish the lenses and keep the glasses in when out and about. If you don't like them, Wiggle will let you return them (free of charge if you use collect plus) up to a year later!

I suffered the same the other day when out and though do have a good pair of sun glasses, The ones with interchangable lenses seem just like a great idea As around where I am there are lots of flying insect life at nealy all year round

Low winter sun , personally i try to avoid routes just now where am heading into the sun for long periods as the suns lower in the sky in winter months and aswell as blinding you it will be blinding drivers behind you.

If you have a skip/visor for your cycle helmet that you dont normally use (most folk pull them off) stick it back on then when the suns in your face you can just dip your head slightly to stop the glare.

I had a similar problem on Saturday but it was the wind on the way back so I've just ordered a pair of Sunwise Equinox from Amazon, cheapest place I could find them, even cheaper than ebay. They have dark, yellow, orange and clear changeable lenses. Lots of styles and prices on Amazon.
