Sunglasses that don't scratch

Every pair of cycling sunglasses I've ever had seem to scratch really easily. Generally my lenses end up scratched after being worn just a few times, and sometimes after a single use.

How come basic sunglasses scratch so easily, and is it possible to buy sunglasses that have some sort of anti-scratch coating on that don't cost a fortune?

Wait for the next aldi bike gear sale, i picked up 2 pairs at £2:50 each they get abused and are still pretty much scratch free 18 months on, however my £60+ rudy projects are the dogs danglies

My Aldi lenses scratched as soon as I removed them from the case

...which will come as no surprise to Bonj.

That's the trouble with modern sunglasses, they give them all sorts of fancy anti-glare, technical polycarbonate names and at the end of the day they're just bl**dy plastic!

As far as I know, the only sunglasses that are still available in glass are Police and Ray-Bann, neither or which are any good for cycling (and aren't cheap.)

I've jsut bought some Briko Olivia's from Wiggle which seem pretty good so far but I've no doubt that as soon as I ride through a cloud of fine dust, they'll end up scratched to beggery!

My Oakleys don't scratch - at least not without severe provocation like headbutting the brick wall of the garage while wearing on pair of M frames on the top of my head I've currently got about half a dozen pairs of various styles and lenses on the go, some are 10 years old and only the one pair (as above) is scratched. Maybe it's time to dip a little deeper into your pockets for a quality product

They are just so insanely expensive for what amounts to a piece of plastic!!
I must admit they do look good though........

i have oakleys i wear them on the bike and hols and everywhere else they have no scratches as yet ..2.0 c wires ..sorted
