Both my wife and daughter are taking part in this.

Just wanted to highlight the event in case anyone else wants to join in.

Cheap enrty at £10 and choice of distances decided on the day.

.... the "women only" rides are an interesting development in cycling (there's also Cycletta, although that seems to be suffering from a high entry cost, about £40, and consequent low entrant numbers)

Be interested to hear what women think of the concept ... some feedback suggests that it's patronising ..... should there be men only events ...?

I did the Diva 100 and I loved it. Didn't feel patronised at all and it was great to see ladies there who would have been too intimidated to enter regular event.

I want to do Cycletta, but is horrendously overpriced - £40 for a 25 mile event???!!!!

Sorry Pendleton, as ridiculously hot as you are and as much as I love a massage, no can do.

I'm a bloke (I think).

I don't find it patronising from a male perspective. If I was a woman I might find it patronising if the distances were very short, but it doesn't appear so.

People should be able to do what they want-it's a (relatively) free country. I wonder if the press would be so positive if there were male only events though?

Not far up the road from me.

I can't attend for biological reasons, but anyone who is accompanying or if peeps are traveling up the day before, is there any desire for a CC beer (or coffee, if that's not patronizing  )
