Sun Solo

Hi Guys,

Decided to get a road bike for my next project, and managed to get a Sun Solo for a good price.

Frame is in good condition and the wheels have come up well using wd40 and wire wool.

It will need a new chain, tyres and tubes.

Has anyone else done one of these who can post pics for inspiration?

Doesn't steel wool scratch it though?.

It seems to have worked ok on this occasion, a lot of it just needed a gentle rub, apart from the odd stubborn spot.

I see what you have said, but I remember asking this before and can't quite remember, what can be used that wont scratch those stubborn areas?? Wetpaper or something is it?

Yes, but when it is stubborn and you don't want to damage the surface??

Not just that, but for frames and other pieces in general.

Ok, I've managed to get the Chrome looking better, but does anyone know how I can get a good finish on the alloy stem and brake calipers?

Use some Autosol cream metal polish - works wonders.

I'll give that a go, I just so happen to have a tube of that around somewhere.
