I have a busch and muller dynamo headlamp I need to nount on my bike, however its on a pompino fork that is not drilled at the front. It wont stretch to the bars.
Any ingenious ideas on where and how to mount it?

Could you change the wire for a longer one? - then bars is the answer.

I assume you have a carbon fork? If so don't clamp anything to it  that would be a very bad move.

Also no drilling on the fork? No front brakes? or have you cantis?

There are clamp on brackets around. But they can make a mess of your fork and if the fork is tapered they can slide down, then rotate into the front wheel.

Personnally I think I'd rewire with a longer wire - if getting into the lamp head isn't too difficult. Or cut the wire and solder on a longer bit. Use some heatshrink insulation to make good for best effect or insulating tape if you can't get any.

Or you could see if you can find something which will allow you to mount it to the V Brake Boss (making sure it doesn't FUBAR the brakes).

longer wire it might have to be then. I have heatshrink tubing so no probs there. The next thing is how to mount to bars.

Ask em if they do a 1 1/8 version? Then you'd be OK as the bars would be less cluttered. Or just keep Googling........

I think someone messed up at On One, not the first time. The Pomp fork is supposed to be drilled, how else do you fit a mudguard? I'd just drill it, a 5mm hole on a beefy steel fork isn't going to hurt, even if it wasn't designed for it. If you have any doubt, give them a ring or email and ask (Also ask how they think you're going to fit the guards!)
If you really don't want to drill, You could get a brake booster and fit the light to this, which I've seen done on a carbon cyclocross fork. I wouldn't go for handlebar fitting, IMO fork bridge mounted lights work better.

PH it is drilled at the back for the guard fitting, its also threaded. There is no drilling at the front and I dont think its a good idea to put one in either. Going for a bar mount.

OK, my error:blush:
Though I don't see why you'd think it was OK to have a hole in the rear and not the front?? Really, if in doubt give them a ring and ask.
Nice looking bike BTW,

these forks are specific for cantis so they don't drill them for callipers, as there is lots of clearance you would need very deep drop callipers to reach the rim.
