Stupid question re hubs and rims

Not been on here for a while, but thanks to those that offered advice with the restoration of my Sun Solo. The frame is currently being re-sprayed and I am hoping to be able to start putting it back together soon. One of the questions I asked back then was to do with wheel size, going from 26 1 1/4 to something bigger in circumfrance. I'm relativley confident that 700Cs would fit when I come to purchase some new wheels but I'd like to try and be able to make use of the 4 speed SA hub. This has 20 spoke holes each side, but most of the 700C rims I have seen in the obvious places on-line have 32 holes/36 in a couple of instances.

Does this prevent me from making use of the hub in a 700C wheel?

I said it was a stupid question, but am a firm believer in the thought that it's only an obvous answer if you know what it is :-)

The rims are available, just a matter of finding a wheel builder to do the job for you, unless you are into the black art.

Look for touring or tandem rims, as they tend to require more strength so have options for more spokes. Here's another couple at SJS:
