strange ticking sound

Hi there,
On my last few commutes ive noticed a strange ticking sound coming from the chainset on each pedal stroke, the bike has just had a new bottom bracket so cant be that and the pedals spin fine.

Any idea's ?

I had something similar happen, only it was the side of my shoe catching the end of the cable.

Ive just fitted a new front gear cable so ill try that, thanks.

Where the gear cables go into the down tube is where a clicking noise comes from on one of my bike, a drop of oil every few months stops it.

Another of my bikes it is the saddle rails, another the seat pin. They all seem to have their own noise source.

My clicking noise was caused by the cadence magnet knocking the sensor.

could be the crank arm catching the end of the front mech cable....
