Brilliant Bikes have had their T line that they use for test rides stolen. Someone who had fake I.D. took it for a test ride and never returned.

( Edited for poor composition)

Innovative use of an ID to steal over a grands worth of kit...........shame they only got a Brompton xx(

The problem is that Bromptons do not resurface all that often. I have said for a long time that it could be they are being targeted to send abroad

I am suprised Brilliant Bikes have been scammed like this.

Still only a brompton though, I wouldn't have one as a gift.

Why, don't they do a trike version?

Shame for them - but you'd think they'd need a credit card before letting 5k of bike out of their sight.

Very surprised they don't have more robust methods.

I hope the frame breaks and the jagged end spears into their nethers and emasculates them permanently, and that it happens on broad daylight in Leicester Square on a Friday lunchtime, on the day of an ambulance strike.

Agreed. I did a nice half hour test ride of a 3k Cube eMTB from the Electric Bike Shop in Harrogate. They took a photocopy of my ID but also swiped my CC and said they had a GPS trace on the bike. So if you don't come back with it you bought it, which is fair enough.

When I test rode the G-line from the Brompton Junction they took my card and kept it in a locked box (I had the key) in the store while I was out of a ride. But first of all they tested it to make sure it was legit.
