It was thought that HGH or the synthetic version was more or less undetactable, as the window for finding it in blood is between 8-24 hours. Probably the bio-passport has shown irregularities and he was targeted. Good.

Apparently WADA and the UCI had been keeping the existence of the test pretty quiet so that riders who were up to something would not be able to have time to take any precautions.
