Stiff Lever

OK so i hope someone can help i have my cannondale around 2 weeks now and i have noticed how extremely stiff the left lever is when trying to change from the small ring to the large ring it takes quite a bit of effort.

I am being led to believe that it may be cable tension that needs adjustingbut i dont want to try anything yet until i get a little more info.

I should add the lever is a new 5800 105

Rule 1 with left hand Shimano levers is to never use undue force to move them as they break very easily.

I would disconnect the cable at the mech (mark the spot if you wish) and see if the lever clicks through the cable nice and easy - pull on the cable with your hand whilst doing so.

Then make sure the mech is moving freely.

Cheers it's all sorted now a little tweak of the cable tension and it shifts up/down like a peach and no excessive force on the lever
