i noticed that some title of topics (threads) have the word sticky infront
eg. sticky: telegraph fantasy league

i was wondering what is a sticky?
and why do they stay top?

Moderators (I think) have the power to make a topic sticky - it's generally deemed as something of use to the masses... rather than a thread about a White Van Man who swore at someone whilst on his phone.
