Noticed last night that when I pull the bottom of my chain towards the chainset, it doesnt run through the derailleur, rather, it just pulls the derailleur with it, until a fair force is put on the chain, then it pings through and slips off the chainset.

Never had this problem before and so far Ive tried, with no success...

Degreasing and relubing chain and casette
Removing and replacing cassette (freehub moves nicely)
Lubing derailleur pivots and cleaning jockey rings.

Everything is aligned properly to my naked eye, shifting is fine, chain doesnt seem to be rubbing/catching on anything.

Its a deore hub with 7 speed cassette and tourney derailleur and kmc 7 speed chain. If that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help, im totally confused.

Cheers

Could it possibly be a stiff link?
Just a guess

I already checked stiff links, just forgot to write it sorry.

I never thought about jockeys. I think ill just replace the derailleur and see if that solves it. Got to be one advantage to having tourney, only £7.

Cheers guys

So I get on my bike today and ride it to work....its sorted. I did nothing at all to it and its working fine. Who knows what was wrong.

Thanks for the suggestions though

Was it upside-down when you found the problem ? (it never quite works properly that way up)
Otherwise, the only suggestion that hasn't already made is that the freehub might be binding (and possibly on it's way out)

If it never happens again, I reckon it was cosmic rays ;)

No it wasnt upside down. Hopefully not the freehub, only had these wheels 6 months. So im going to pick cosmic rays. They always seem to give me trouble ever since I bought some stripy socks.
