When this popped up locally on marketplace it was obvious that I needed to re home it .

It's a Steve Ettridge road bike that had a previous life as a time trial machine ridden by it's now sadly deceased owner who's grandson decided that he no longer wanted it.

Columbus tubing but not sure what grade and it's chromed with some light speckling of rust that will hopefully clean up.

Nice heart lugs oh and a slotted bottom bracket which looks to have 117 on one side and a single number 1 on the other side.

Bit of a mix of parts but nothing that can't be sorted.

Oh it's nice and light as well.

I love that, some fine wire wool will sort the frame out. Doesn’t look as if it needs that much. Strip and rebuild will turn that into an absolute stunner.

if you want to move it on for a quick drink let me know.

Not much really a bit of re commissioning it deserves a nice set of wheels and a few more teeth on the rear block please.

Just had chance to inflate the old cruddy tyres and they stayed inflated long enough to do an up and down of the cul de sac 😁.
Measures 21 3/4 " so a bit smaller than I would prefer.
Seat pinch bolt takes a 4.5 mm or imperial equivalent Allen key so need to find one of them thankfully it was only finger tight so have replaced it with a longer bolt and nut affair.
Rode nicely for as much as I can tell.
Tubing is Columbus Acciaio speciale

Another session tonight around the rear brake area and found these little cut outs on the bridge to rear stays joint.

Also found a 1984 date code on dia compe rear caliper casting which ties in with what the seller thought.

Had my first tour of the estate earlier after doing a few little tweeks on this one.

All things considered it rode well front brake needs a tweek as do a couple of other things but we're not far away from some longer rides .

I found the campagnolo "Portacatena" style rear drop outs whilst doing a bit more cleaning and trying out wheels.

In the end I have put the set of Hope hubbed wheels with unknown rims on that were residing on my Stuart Sinclair road bike.

That looks utterly delish!
I really don't want to know what you'll move it on for.
And I don't have room in the garage.
