Stem Change

Hi, thinking of changing my stem on my giant tcr rim brake version from 100mm to 90 or possibly 80mm.
Do I just swop straight off and on leaving everything attached, or do I need to adjust all the cable tensions and length when swopped over, never done one before so just asking , thanks

If you have enough slack to just swap them over you may get away without having to adjust the cables. But you might find that you have to release all the cables to do the swap and then of course reassemble and tension.

straight swap , you might need another spacer if the new stem is slightly different as they come slightly different dependant on manufacturer .

you don't need to alter cable length, but possible may need to fine tune with little adjusters at the brake caliper / RD indexing.

Take care not to overtighten headset bolt, tighten stuff up i correct order - all explained on linked video.
