Hiya my husband has just tried to replace the head spacers and found that one of the bolts has threaded the stem is there anything that can be done to save it or is it going to have to be a new stem?

If im understanding it right Smotyn, hes stripped one of the threads in the stem.
For the sake of safety, I'd replace the stem. I'm an engineer and have the equipment and knowledge of repairing stripped threads, but I wouldn't do it on my own bike.
You want to be 100% safe in the knowledge that your bike wont fail. A failure at the front end could be catastrophic...I wouldnt want to risk a sudden failure for the sake of a few quid.
