Steerer bung advice please.

Ok I went to change the bar height on my boardman race and the steerer bung decided to come out? Looking into it a bit online shouldn't halfrauds have glued this in on assembly or is it ok just clamped by the stem bracket doesn't seem safe to me though.

Any advice would be welcomed

Is it a star-fangled nut or one of the funny ones for a carbon steerer?

There's a little hex key under the top cap thread - you simply expand the sides by turning it.

Just found it was an allen key on mine. oh dear me so embarrassed ah well I know for next time thanks for the help
