Steel frame bent mech hanger

Had the frame bent at the inbuilt mech hanger two times now after riding through shrapnel - every time the LBS has successfully bent it back. How many times do you reckon this can be done before it just snaps off? This is a Genesis Croix de Fer..

I had to have mine straightened (Gen Eq)...told it could snap the first time! Luckily it didn't!

Depends how far the bends were previously and this time. There's lots of variables, so only one way to find out.

Steel will probably stand 3 or 4 bendings, depending on how severe the bend is. If it's a forged drop-out then I'm not so sure, though I have bent a few back without issue.

Closing a 8" adjustable spanner over the flat face, provides some useful yet gentle leverage.
