Hi, just looking some advice on replacing brake and gear cables on my new (2nd hand) bike I picked up which has SRAM Red 22 groupset.
The bike has Gore Ride-On cables currently, (who I think supplied specific SRAM kits in the past) but I see they no longer supply and all the online cycling websites I've looked at for Gore Ride-On no longer have stock.
So my query is can anyone recommend for definate a good compatible cable/gear kit for the SRAM Red 22 groupset (on a Cannondale Supersix Evo). Reason I ask is I've read a number of posts were people have had issues specifically with routing the replacement gear inner cable through the shifter and they say SRAM Red needs 1.1mm diameter gear cable but majority of aftermarket and shimano are 1.2mm diameter. I have spoken 2 a number of local LBS who said shimano/jagwire etc 1.2mm should be no issue but am getting conflicting advice which I adding to the confusion.
Also is there any links to any online resources for the cable replacement - I've previously only had shimano groupsets before any the information/guide/vidoes of their stuff is plentiful but there seems to be a lack of details for the SRAM stuff - plus any info I ave found is pretty old and generally referencing SRAM Red 10 speed so not sure if the 11 speed version is basically the same as far as install or spec with cable diameter is concerned, maybe the issue with diameter was only apparent in 10 speed shifters?..
