SRAM GXP Bottom Bracket Arrow Indicators

Do the arrows show the direction to tighten or loosen? Having issues getting the external cups out and don't know if I'm tightening or lossening.

If I remember correctly the arrows show the direction of tightening, as it also states the recommended torque.

Both undo towards the front of the bike.
