Anyone know this works? There was a little round gizmo by the till at a cafe we were at on Saturday, but I couldn't be bothered to ask the teenager for details.

Looks like a phone app to replace a loyalty card for a coffee shop for example, however the businesses will be able to send you emails etc. so if you value your privacy don't bother.

Yep, its a virtual loyalty card
buy 9 get 1 free etc

It means the shop can see what you have bought and as a customer you can opt out of marketing mails.

Why for cyclists and walkers ?
It's just a loyalty card thing as far as I can see - I mean it's fine if it's a cafe you will go to - but I go to the cafes en route.
