No not me, the bike. everyting i turn the pedals there's a squeek. i think it's comming from the bit inbetween the peddals, (i'm not that technically minded so bare with me), anyway, i have no idea how to stop it as i cant see anywhere obvious to oil. what do i do and what do i use.

by the way all i have in the house is wd40, finish line dry teflon lube, or some muck off degreaser.

help please ;)

Your bottom bracket, then. I had this four weeks ago. Had to buy a bottom bracket cartridge and a tool to replace it. Not an easy job.

However, it could be just the pedal needs greasing. Most sounds sound like they come from the bottom bracket and end up being something entirely different - seat post, saddle, chain, etc. So try everything else before you opt to take apart the bottom bracket. For an inexperienced mechanic, it can be cheaper in time, effort and money to take it to a local bike shop. But do what you can first to track down the noise.

What bike have you got?

i had a similar sound not that long ago and i thought it was the bottom bracket. It wasn't. Some oil in the pedal bearings helped and the noise went.

Pedal bearings should be greased, I thought, and the cage pedals I have, have to be dismantled to do it. Other cheaper pedals are not designed to be dismantled but replaced when they wear out.

I daresay oiling them may take the problem away for a bit. Just place the bike on it's side (without damaging the derailleur, the bit that changes the gears) and try and drip oil onto the pedal axle - the bit in the middle on which the pedal spins. This isn't a permanent solution btw. 3 in 1 oil or similar will do the trick.

Also check that your brake blocks are not catching on the front and / or back wheel rims when not applied. Squeaks and noises are notoriously difficult to pinpoint. Oh and try to avoid using WD40 at all costs as it is a solvent /degreaser and will make more trouble for you in the long run
