My rear and front brakes make quite a squeaking noise when they are applied on my Apollo MTB
The brake pads are fine, could this be due to excessive heat on breaks?,I noticed that it happend whilst MTBing in Llandegla last weekend?
Please advise
cheers
^_^

Check alignment with the rims (i.e. not higher or lower at one end), make sure that the whole block is applied (i.e the full block contacts the rim, not just the top/bottom half) and also check that they're being applied evenly. Once you've done that the squeaks should disappear!

could need toeing in if its pads or the pads could be contaminated take them off and file the top surface and then refit them back on and should be ok, i did with my rear pds and they are fine now. if its disc brakes then they are normally squeeky when cold once warmed up they should be ok.
