I am a beginner cyclist riding an inexpensive mountain bike. I get a squeak that seems to be coming from the front tire area but only starts 2-3 miles into my ride. The squeak continues even when I'm not pedaling. I've cleaned and regreased the bearings in the front and where the pedals are. Can anyone offer some suggestions on what I can try to alleviate it and also why it doesn't start until a few miles in. Thanks for your thoughts.

Is it a regular squeak, I.e every revolution of the wheel or intermittent?

I had a creak that I was convinced was the bottom bracket as it only appeared when pedaling.
Turned out to be seat post which is a good place to start, a thin smear of grease on the part of the seat post that inserts into the frame cured mine.

Squeaks and creaks often sound like they are from a certain area but in reality are from elsewhere.

Thank you, in desperation I did remove the seat post yesterday and sprayed it but wasn't too sure if I should or not so I didn't overdo it. The squeak is continuous, not intermittent. I'm thinking it might be the shock absorbers? They seem to be the only thing I haven't touched. Thoughts? Tnx again.
