Snooker, both are indoor GAMES. Don't get me started on motorSPORT, I always thought that was, well, driving?

And please let's not bleat on about how fit you have to be to drive a fast car whilst polluting the planet. If it requires an engine it aint a sport in my book.
Right, tactical withdrawal and gets ready for a fight [or not].

PS Jessica Ennis gets my vote

Oh I thought being a cycling forum this thread would be all about putting our considerable numbers behind Mr Cavendish.... :bicycle:

Barnet,
Cavendish has come on leaps and bound in the last year, he is much more comforable in front of the camera. I think he might be in with a chance this year. But then again, there was a lot made of the golfer, who's name escapes me who is the no.1 in the world.

Who gives a f**k anyway? I like watching sportspeople doing what they're good at - driving a racing car, riding a motorbike ... er, that's about it for me as far as watching sport goes - not hanging around a meaningless tacky awards ceremony looking uncomfortable in a DJ.

Cavendish has heaps of personality tbh and talent obviously.

Same here.

Cav has no chance, he didn't even make the first hundred in the TdF. Stage wins in a sport they don't understand don't matter as far as the general public are concerned. You need to be a world champion, Olympic gold medallist or winner of a status event like the tour or a golf masters title to be in with a shout.

And darts and snooker are sports, otherwise they wouldn't be on the sports pages of the papers. That definition is good enough for me as there is no hard and fast rule.

To name but one,
Oxford dictionary:

It's probably going to be Lee Westwood unless we win the Ashes. I do like watching it as a sports review of the year though. Two memorable occasions are:

1. Jonny Vegas presenting the rugby league segment in a year Wigan won everything and going on about St Helens for the whole segment.
2. Funny, although obviously it shouldn't have been, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson winning an award and there was a step to get up. Did no one at the BBC think of that then??

That was rather good. I particulalry liked the last couple of paras:

"Earlier Italian cyclist Franco Pellizotti was crowned King of the Mountains, Britain's Bradley Wiggins was King of the Fields and Streams, and Hanuman, the Hindu demi-god, was named King of the Monkeys.

American Lance Armstrong put in a stunning performance at the age of 37 to finish third, with many saying he would have won for a record 36th time if his bicycle did not have cancer."
