Strangely I quite like baseball, caught a few local league games when I was working there. Think of it as cricket for those that prefer baseball caps to bowler hats.

I had the misfortune of going to see the Baltimore Orioles on a 6 day packed adventure to Washington DC back in the 90's.

Astonishingly slow play and utterly mind-numbing.

For the Grand Tours, TDF, Giro and Vuelta I can happily watch entire stage but only if it's Boulting and Millar on comms.
No interest in golf or baseball or god forbid American "football".

Middle or Long distance running, does anyone really care about the first 1450m or 9950m?

Some sports don't play out quite so well on the tele. Cricket and baseball being prime examples, both of which I've enjoyed at the ground itself. For me, its hard to beat a lazy day watching county cricket. Not the same on tele. Cycling is, I'd image, dull as on the tele for many people - chateau shots from the helicopter aside. Horses for courses, but not in the living room.

Golf is the prime example. Extremely boring to watch live but TV editing all over the course means you are watching something happening all the time. Golf may not be your cup of tea but it is undeniably improved by watching on TV.

The Masters over the weekend provided some of the finest sporting drama I have ever seen.

Massively exciting on Saturday and then last night was unbelievably tense as the story swung one way then the other. Must admit I shed a tear at the denouement.

I was a big baseball fan when I lived in the States, and went to a few NY Mets games. But when I came back I lost touch as there was no TV or anything at the time. I've never re-kindled my interest. Cricket, I enjoy watching too. And naturally road cycling.

Golf isn't a sport.
