spoke size question

Hi,

Can anyone help me with the correct spoke size for my Trek 4500 MTB?

The broken spoke is on the back wheel on the cassette side. I'd like to fix it myself, but haven't yet got hold of the tools to get the cassette off. So I can't (as yet) take the broken spoke off and measure it. It will cut down my time-without-bike if I can order the spoke while I get hold of the tools.

I've tried a few of the online spoke calculators, but they either don't have my rim/hub listed, or require inputting some dimensions that I'm not confident of getting right.

My rims are Vuelta VXC 2.4
Hub is Shimano Deore FH-510

Have a look at the various spoke length calculators out there on the net. Many have databases of individual hubs and rims that you can select from.

This one of the most complete that I know of, but although it lists some Vuelta rims it doesn't show VXC2.4

There are instructions on measuring your own hubs and rims here - most calculators allow you to enter your own values. This is a nice simple one.

Can't you measure on of the unbroken spokes?
