Spinning class versus Turbo Trainer

I tried the Rides 'So Cal' training DVD on a Keiser spinning bike in the gym today. Worked really well, v easy to keep in HR zone. Much better than when I tired it on the gym's Lifecycle exercise bike.
I averaged 210 Watts* over the 54 mins @ 86rpm... which I thought was interesting as I averaged 212 Watts over 45 mins @ 93rpm in the last spinning class I did.

*OK it's an arbitrary measurement which does not take body weight into account.



As a comparison I thought it was quite interesting.

I was surprised at how close those average wattage figures are.

At least it seems to demonstrate that the spinning classes aren't a waste of time ;0)
