I have a cannondale caad 8 but wanted to purchase a turbo or rollers

I don't want to put my road bike on the Turbo and/or have the hassle of putting my road bike on / off the thing as I don't have any spare bikes laying around.

So I was thinking of purchasing a turbo hack

but then I do the maths and by the time a buy a turbo say £ 150 add a second hack but half decent hack say
£ 250 I can have a home spin bike for new for around the same price

I want a turbo and a bike on it permanently as a training aid as I am unable to get out for rides midweek.

Will a spin bike do the same job as a bike on a turbo will do?

What are the pros/cons between a spin bike and a turbo or rollers?

EDIT - Oh and my wife would like to use something similar as well so it would adjust to her

I'd say a spin bike is great as a piece of general fitness equipment; like a treadmill or cross trainer. Good for getting a sweat-on and doing some excerise when you can't get on the road, and yes, they're easily adjustable for other users.
If you want to ride hard and train for cycling "specifically", then you need your "real" bike on a turbo or rollers. With a spin bike you'll struggle to get your positioning accurate, and you can end up giving yourself knee, hip etc problems.
