I think that all gps derived data can be flawed. But you could try endomondo.

Endomondo gets my vote too. Combine it with a bike computer (mine was something like £7 from hellfads) and you should be able to get a decent idea of your speed.

I use Strava and the speed never quite matches my computer. I suspect any GPS app will not be that accurate. Why don't you go for the computer NigelNaturist suggested. Seems like a bargain to me. Not seen many computers with cadence for that price.

Works pretty well had it a month, good clear display, three lines of info. I think gps is not perfect for recording such info, its great for logging and times over routes, all it needs to be out is a fraction and it will give errors in placement hence unnatural speeds.

Sounds good, I paid more for mine and it doesn't have cadence. It is wireless though.

Wires arnt a problem, plus you dont need to change the batteries, just one prob the cadence magnet sometimes moves, though not usually while cycling, I probably need to nip the cable tie up a little.

I like sportstracker for ease of use.....some readings are a little ambitious....but a good free app. Strava is very popular at present but I don't want to compare how slowly I climbed a hill compared against someone else.

Another great freebie is cyclestreets......but this is a route planning app.

I aint bothered how slow I am to others, its interesting to see your own records as you improve.

Certainly not knocking Strava type apps Nigel (just that I'm too slow and unfit to want to post my achievements up against more serious and competitive cyclists!!) and I agree about monitoring own progress. For this purpose I have found Sportstracker to be ideal.

My return from the supermarket - http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/pcdRcT7-qd0 :thanks:
Nothing competitive about my achievements, I just like to keep a record of my cycling. If I happen to be faster than someone else then that's just a coincidence.

What will be nice over time as speeds increase to what ever level, it will be nice to view your times from when you started, i keep a spreadsheet with the days linked to gpsies for the rout I did, not perfect but works plus it just the whole ride, I find strava nice because you can do a section from a different direction one day and from another direction another and still get times for that section, suppose they could include a section about most sections riden by yourself I suppose.

Great going with baby, trailer and shopping.

Had a look at last Fridays I have graphs looking like that hilly starts flattish bit then hilly ends.
Just add you as a friend on endomondo if thats ok.

This was my ride tonight. http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/khH08Rj2Zy0

Ignore the altitude for some reason its doesnt always show right from the app, if I export it it does on strava
