Hi guys. I've knocked my speedometer trinkets and I don't have the instructions.

I've messed around with it for a while now and I still haven't managed to fix it. The speeds shown are still ridiculously high.

I think it is of a regular set up. A sensor on the front right fork and another smaller sensor fitted to the spokes on the same side.

Any tips on how it should be set up?

I have no idea what all those A to F groups are?? I know it's a Raleigh speedo, what type I have no idea.

I've found a picture http://www.gadgetspage.com/wp-content/Speedometer1.jpg showing what the positioning should be, i've done that.

When I reboot my speedo I get the following options

First is a 4 didgit number which I always though was the clock lol. I think that is to do with the wheel size and whichever group it should be.
Next is KM/MPH
Then it's a choice of 4, 20, 40, 60 and 80. Again don;t know what they stand for.

anyway when you start the display it should say like 2155 something along those lines so heres the numbers u need to set the circumference 2097.
as for the last set of options i have no idea

The first picture was just to see if i'd lined the magnet and the sensor stuff up right on the fork/ spokes. My speedo is wireless yes. 99% sure that link is mine.

Right thanks for your help qwiksilver. I've got it to that stage. Now it's not reading anything! Although if I take it off and shake it it says 20mph!

It is pretty old so it may have finally snuffed it. I hope not though.

only thing i have found in relation to that last setting is this

In its manual it says, "Maintenance Program - Maintenance Program notifies you to replace parts or lubricate the chain after the preset distance is reached. Right after KM/Mile selection, the perset total distance of 800 km (or miles) will falsh, press RIGHT button to select between 200, 400, 600 or 800km (or miles) and press LEFT button to confirm. For example, if 600 km is selected, the wrench will flash whenever the total distance (ODO) reach 600, 1200, 1800 km (or miles). Press LEFT button to stop flashing wrench."

When you're initially programming the computer, you put it in as 20, 60, 80 or 80 instead of 200, 400, 600 or 800.

does it have a spanner icon flash up wen you first put the battery in ?

hope that helps

lmaoooooo dont take it off and shake it thats a false reading .
for testing as i did on mine set it up with the calibration settings in etc then have the sensor next to the computer the move the magnet past the sensor back n forth a few times you should see a symbol on the screen that its active as tho you are cycling (usually a icon of a person on a bike)then you know its working if that all checks out fit it to the bike and if it dont work then replace all the batteries with new ones.

Right after more fiddling it still isn't working! You are correct about that spanner icon. Set it to the figures stated swapped batteries and still no reading, just says 0mph. I've a friendly local bike store which I think i'd be best popping it into.

Annoyed that i've been defeated! I've cleaned my bike, altered my cleats and fixed a rubbing back brake today! The most mechanical that i've ever been!

Yh honestly nowhere near the bike I jogged upstairs with the computer in my hand and noticed it was giving me a reading haha.

Yep road bike. Carrera TDF 08. Halford's finest. There seems to be a slight difference of agreement. In the old Q&A section someone asked what wheel size they were. Halfords Web team said 26" an Halfords worker says actually 28".
