Speed

I have started commuting everyday to work. Last week I managed 14.4mph over 118.77 miles.

Obviously there are various variables at play:

• wind speed/direction
  
• relief
• terrain
• tyres
• weight
  

etc

but was just wondering on other peoples comparative speeds over similar distances?

I am riding a Carrera Gryphon Hybrid 08 for information.

As you've realized, there are so many variables that what others (of varying abilities, riding different bikes over different terrain) achieve has absolutely no relevance to your experience.

Having said that, an average of 14.4 mph should be a perfectly satisfying speed on a commute.
