Hi, I am having problems with my second hand Specialized Tricross Sport 2010 as the braze-on bottle cage and mudguard fittings keep coming away from the frame. Has anyone had the same problem? I'm not sure what I can do as the bike is second hand so I have no origional receipt.
Please let me know if you have any advice.

Thanks

The easy fix is buy a 15 quid Rivnut tool. Like a pop riviter . Or ask your LBS.

These things put those threaded inserts (Rivnuts) in. Its a bit fiddly as instead of screwing the insert into the tool you have to rotate the whole bike  but then all you do is squeeze.
My Tricross had several come loose. The biggest probelm is doing this if the bolts are stuck in.

Tip. Use some copper grease whn you fit the bolts next time.

If the bolts are stuck in , try drilling very small holes in the bit of the insert that you can see and hlding that with a small nail of something wilst you remove the bolt. If the bolt won't come and you HAVE to get it out, wriggle the whole thing until it pops out of the frame and then use a new Rivnut thats big enough to fit the now bigger hole.
