Hi all,

What mudguards do people use who own a Sectuer (2010 model)?

Tried Crud mk 2 but not enough clearance or just didn't fit them correctly!

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've bought Cruds for my Secteur but not fitted them. I plan to swap tyres for 23C when I do it.

I tried them with the 25mm tyres, it was just about do-able, but I sanded mine insde for a bit of extra clearance. The rub was minimal but there, especially after going over lose gravel that stuck to they tyres. Im now running 23mm conti gatorskins, plenty of clearance and not much change in the ride as far as I can tell, dont seem any more harsh and maybe a bit quicker accelerating but that may just be me thinking it.

Mine didn't work at all with the 25mm tyres, but 23's work just fine. I was worried too about a difference in ride but couldn't tell any. In fact the bike felt better with the 23's on.

I also use crud mk 2 but had to modify the rear guard where they have added a flange for extra protection. I found these very fiddly to fit and with very little clearance considering the Elite is billed as a touring, sportive style bike, also beware that the plastic bolts supplied they are very weak.

Crud mk2 fit my Secteur Sport fine. I use Gatorskins 700x25c. There is not a lot of clearance however. I have got Tektro brakes on mine as a warranty replacement so the clearances on my bike may be slightly different.
