After just two months of ownership, ny wife has decided that she simply has not 'gelled' with her stunning new 51cm Specialized Ruby Elite. Personally, I can't beleive it - the bike is stunning and so well specified.

This really is a bit of a dream bike - full carbon - full 105 - upgraded wheelset (Easton EA 50 Aeros). It weighs next to nnothing and in the carbon weave and red colours it looks absolutely stunning. Even the Easton Wheels are colour matched to the bike.

We have just ordered her a Trek Domane so need to sell the Spesh. As I say, it is genuinely just two months old (with receipts to prove this). It has covered less than 200 miles and we are looking for £1600.

Let's hope she gets on with the Trek!!!

We sell both the models you mention in our shop, the Secialized Ruby and the Trek Domane so I would just be interested to know what it was that she didn't like about the Ruby that she feels will be better on the Domane. My first thought would be the sizing/geometry as the Ruby is a 'Female Specific' frameset where the frame geometries and profiling are geared to the differences in the female physiology. The Domane isn't gender specific so it will tend to be longer in the top tube dimension for a given size than the Ruby.
Hope you don't mind me asking as it may be useful for me to know for potential customers.
Thanks, Graham

To be honest, she can't really put her finger on it - they just haven't 'gelled'. I guess it goes like that sometimes.

The Trek that we have on order is a WSD Domane (which, we are told, will not be here until January). She already has a WSD Lexa and adores it, so I think that there will be greater similarities between frame geometry from Trek to Trek than Trek to Specialized.

Yes I think you're right in your thinking about the frame geometries. Trek have obviously realised that there is definitely a need for the WSD (Womens Specific Design) models across the range and have introduced it into the Domane from the 4.3 upwards but they are new for 2013 and the demand is such that they most likely won't be available until early next year.

Just as an interesting aside from this, in this years Tour De France, Fabien Cancellara who wore the Yellow Jersey for the first week, rode a standard off the peg Domane (albeit the top end one) for the whole of the first week of the Tour as he felt more comfortable on this than his normal team bike. It was only when the race went into the big mountains that he switched to his more specific climbing bike which was lighter etc.

Good luck with the new bike and the sale of the 'old' one.
