DCLane

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Personally, I think they're awful; slow, noisy, prone to bursting.

Avoid.

Try Gatorskins or similar.

I've got the Espoir Sport tyres, they came with my hybrid (700x28) I've done 20 miles shy of 1000 miles on them in 3 months, they not bad, not the quickest but I've only had 1 puncture on them yesterday, Tho there is better out there, if you can get them for a cheap price they ain't bad.

Can get these for under £20 each.

Heavier than the ones you've mentioned definitely, depends what you want I suppose.

I use the Durano+ which are quite a bit lighter than the Marathons but they are closer to £25-30, I could have suggested M+ those bad boys really are heavy but great for puncture protection ;)

I'm also still running them on my hybrid commuter (700x28). Only done "summer" miles (approx 450) but have been fine so far. I keep them at near max pressure and they seem to roll okay but can be noisy. Not sure i'd go as far as recommend them.
Will defo change them out prior to winter commuting.

Hmmmm... I've just fitted a set to my Tricross for C2C this weekend. Maybe I'll go back to the 32mm Schwalbes!

I rate Michelin lithions - ran a set over winter, grippy, didnt puncture much, roll fast (not a million miles away from the pro 4s). A winter of significant riding (approx 15 hours a week) saw them about 3/4 of the way through their life.

I have also used the £10 schwalbe blizzards - ride much the same as gatorskins, 1/3 of the cost. Pretty thick so don't puncture much.

The only advantage I see to gatorskins is that they last forever.

Note - always ridden 23s, can't imagine the story for 25s is completely different though

If you like the ice-rink feeling you get in the rain from them, batter in.

Vittoria Zaffiro Pro are a good combination of budget, puncture resistance and grip.

I have been riding Lithion 2s for a couple of years now. I think they are good value, reliable tyres. You can currently get them for only £11.99 at Planet X.
