I have a 2012 model, (I think) and while the front shock has an adjuster for preload on the right, I couldn't see any way of locking it out.
A friend who has the same bike claims to have a lockout on his FS, but he may have the model from the year afterwards.
So, is a lockout on the same side as a preload adjuster? What would it look like? There is a 'castellated' plastic top to the other side of the FS, is that it??

Sorry, stupid questions I know, just think i might benefit from not bouncing around so much.

Thanks...

Sounds as if it's just got basic coil strung forks with no lock out. Is it this one?

Any lockout will be fairly obvious on the top of the fork

It's just possible that your mate simply increases the preload to max to stop most of the compression. If you don't like being bounced around, then that would be one option. However, as the fork is not likely to be damped, any big spikes will still rebound. Try it and see. If that doesn't reduce the bouncing, try knocking your tyre pressures back a few PSI. What make and model of fork is it?
Thought so, guess there isn't one then. Thanks for the responses. It's the disc version.
