I was just looking at a Specialized Roubaix SL4 Sport Sram Disc yesterday (but for some reason it's not on my history of yesterday so I can't show you) which is not available in the UK..

The question is, it has Sram Apex components but is that good gear or what does that relate to in Shimano components..

Cheers.

In the UK the bikes are being presented as Shimano Di2 disk and its pretty good kit, the Di2 model is better than the SRAM build of the bike imho
of course I'm bias regarding this.

Looking at the spec, it says it had hydraulic discs and hydraulic sti's.

It might be worth double checking this with the retailer.

To the best of my knowledge the only hydraulic sti's that SRAM did are the top spec Red. I say did rather than do, as they have all been recalled due to a component failure. As I understand there isn't a fix in place for the component, so you can't currently buy any SRAM hydraulic sti's. Happy to be correctly if things have moved on though.

I would like hydraulic SRAM sti's on my next winter bike, but don't was Red, so will need to wait for them to fix their problem and then for the tech to trickle down to their lesser gruppos.

You could well be right on the recall as the bloke in the shop said the bike had to go back for a recall. Next time I'm in Malaga I'll try and get a bit more info on whats going on.
Cheers for that..
PS.. I will have to sell my new bike anyway so a month or two is no problem?

The SRAM hydraulic kit is currently being redesigned. At this time they have no definitive ETA on addressing the issues.
I am still waiting for SRAM to provide my mechanical loan brakes to be provided as are many people.
Current indications suggest that SRAM Hydro road brakes are unlikley to be available prior to April as the first sets have been promised to people subject to the recall.
My experience of this is documented below along with the recall site.

Thanks for the links Mr H... as I have to sell my road bike, April would be good timing to get a Roubaix then when the issue is sorted.
