I will be going to the Bike factory in Chester soon to have a look at the Specialized Allez Triple and Specialized Allez Double. They both look stunning in black and are both on offer until November so no rush.
The triple is £519.00 from £589.99 and the double £499.99 from £559.99.
Anyone has any experience of them? I mean the bikes, not the shop.

There's a review here of the triple and fairly sure there have been reviews in Cycling Active

You could probably start a new forum based just on Allez owners (and then another one based on the merits or otherwise of the 2300/Sora thumb shifter).

Anyway, I think they are tried and tested enough that in terms of the bike you're unlikely to go too far wrong (but remember you get what you pay for).

So in the end I think it's down to whether you like the look and feel of the bike.

Yes, got one as have many others on here. No problems in recommending it, and got some good reviews.

Quite a full-on geometry, so others prefer a more relaxed frame. Brakes generally not regarded as the best around.

I got an Allez a couple of years back. Purchasing through the C2W scheme, I got impatient waiting for them to source the Sport version so ended up getting the basic Allez (2010 silver, triple model). I have to say that I really like it. I don't typically do many long rides, mostly 10 - 30 miles at a time but despite people telling me it had quite aggresive positioning I have found it really comfortable. Was a bit concerned with the basic 2300? groupset but to be honest it's been more than ample for my needs and as I spend a fair amount of my time riding on the hoods the thumb shifter suits me fine. Other than the odd bit of maintenance myself, I haven't had it serviced at all in 2 years (a good reminder to book it in before going to France next month as the gears are starting to make a little noise in the middle ring) and my only gripe was the shite stock tyres that it came with. Several punctures led to upgrading to armadillos and, touch rubber, I've had very few probs since. All in all delighted with it. The 2011 black models look great too.

Edit - just checking the spec of the 2011 models, they've upgraded the tyres from the mondos that came on the 2010 version I have.

I have a Spesh Allez triple which I use as my training bike. It's nice to ride. I concur about the brakes though. When I got my Bianchi I was staggered at how much better the brakes were than the Allez.

I have an 2009 Allez Sport and it's very reliable, comfortable geometry (for me) and the Tiagra has never given me any issues. The wheels are nothing 'special' but got through many bumpy rides and are still 'true! I would not hesitate in recommending it
