Dear all

I presently own a cannondale carbon six 2010 model with the 105 groupset. The bike is awesome but it will be time to upgrade and I am planning to purchase the specialised roubaix pro sl3 2011 bike.

I only use the bike for fitness, not racing and comfort is more important to me than speed.

Anyone got the roubaix who can comment before I make a firm commitment before I purchase.

Thanks all

I think any bike at the 4K price range will be comfortable to ride....what's not to like

In all seriousness the Roubaix are built especially for comfort, the geometry is a little more relaxed then out and out race bikes. It also has Specialized Zertz inserts on the seat stays and front forks to act as dampeners to give a lovely smooth ride.
One thing you should be aware and no doubt you are, is that it's fitted with Dura Ace/Ultegra mix components which will be expensive to replace.
But if you are paying 4k for a bike then you are prepared to pay more for replacement components.

I have a Roubaix 2009 with 105 components and love it to bits. It's such a wonderful smooth ride that eats up the miles and flies up hills.

Go fill your boots... it's a lovely bike and I will be a very jealous man.

I've got a 2007/8 Roubaix with mostly Ultegra and with Ksyrium wheels. It is incredibly smooth to ride, not because of the crappy Zertz inserts but thanks to the bendy chainstays, which bend like a bendy thing on rough surfaces. It's my Ferrari.
