Someone here is offering this bike but I cannot find this particular model on the net, only the drop bar version. Does anyone have one or can tell me if they offered a flat bar model?
Asking price is about £200. Shifters are not working but can sort that.

All awol's are retailed with drop bars so has had a flat bar conversion. Even with the shifter issues £200 is a great price.

Thanks, I think you may be right. The cable guides are missing and so held on with cable ties but for the price you can't complain. It's also got a triple which is odd. All sorts turn up here, this would have come from the States. A few weeks ago I bought a Colnago frame for £15. I'll post it in the Vintage section soon. Nobody wants racers here so there are some bargains to be had.

Edit: Just noticed the bars are plain Ali, not painted so converted for sure.

Looks like this bike here - http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/category/bikes/road/product/review-specialized-awol-elite-50192/

But appears to have been pillaged for all the good bits like drive train and brake calipers which look as though they have been replaced with older bits from another bike? Just be warned, this could be a ringer, a mix & match of stolen bikes to try and disguise the true identity of the original bike. This happened to me when my sons bike was stolen. By the time I recovered it the good wheels and Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes had been swapped for generic tat from another bike! :cursing:

Yes, @I like Skol I hadn't thought of that but its a possibility. But why would they change the bars and levers and leave the wheels? The chainset definitely has been changed, its a Suntour, plus the saddle is not original.
I think if I did get it I would try to change it to original spec, near as poss.

I guess taking drops off for flats is a big visual change for little money, especially if you just put on some old broken shifters. (Even more so if you then sell the old shifters seperate).

Does seem suspicous to me I must say.

I would let it go unless you are sure what components are on it and you can see the risk worth taking for the value in it.

The whole bike just looks wrong to me.

Its true, the whole thing is rather odd. The other possibility is that its been built up. Specialised offered it as a frame only. The shifters and rear mech are compatible.

As you can see the front much is at completely the wrong height.

I think I've decided to buy it. Its the nearest thing to a modern bike I'm going to get here.
Don't think its stolen but rather built up by an incompetent American cyclist. If it were stolen and striping off the parts why leave seventy quid's worth of tyres on it and have the correct bar shifters? (they are e-bike tyres) Has a close ratio cassette which is also odd.

Thanks for all the comments.
