The bog standard MOst Bengals one on my FP1 isn't the most comfortable thing to sit on especially over longer distances.

I'm looking to swap it out for a new one. Can anyone suggest a good comfortable road bike saddle to consider trying out?.

I know everyone is different and you really need to try out a few to see what suits you but a few pointers as to what to start looking at would be welcome.

Thanks!!

A mix, really. Bike is a Pinarello FP1.

My commute to work is 18 miles each way, generally do this 3 or 4 times a week, mostly all year round, weather permitting.

Other than that, I get out for rides of between 20-50 miles whenever I can in my spare time. Not built up to anything longer than that yet, miles wise.

I'd like to have a crack at a couple of local sportives this year but I am wondering about the comfort level my current saddle can provide!.

Roger that, thanks fellas.

I'll have a look around my nearby LBS. If they stock this model of saddle I assume they will know about the measuring the sit bones stuff?.

Any others that spring to mind for comparison?. Been looking at Selle SLR's, not sure how they compare?. I'm not interested in weight etc, I'm not a "weight-weenie" by any means, more interested in comfort.

RSV Ecosse pamper your butt with a Turbomatic II never been a more comfortable saddle sadly not in production anymore but eBay has 'em from time to time, you'll never get BB's again and never look back either, you can't :girl:

Thanks repairtec, will keep an eye on the Bay of "E's" for those.

Does anyone know if Evans Cycles allow you to try saddles out for yourself?. I have a large Evans Cycles very near to me that do the Toupe, but from their website I see they say the white version in 143mm is "discontinued"?. Why would that be?. They appear to do both the 130mm and the 143mm ones in black, but not in white?.

Its a personal preference thing, there is no one saddle that every rider would agree was most comfortable.

Have a look at a good range and choose the one that suits you best. Be sure to include the SMP4Bike range in your choices.

And make sure your bike fits you properly - the correct relative position of saddle, bars, pedals is essential to making your bike comfy!

Watch this video for an overview of bike fitting, its a good introduction to a much overlooked subject imo
