After 8000 miles, the original rims on my Tricross are looking as if they might not have another summers worth of touring left on them, so I am looking to replace the front and rear wheels as a complete "ready built" set.

After a bit of searching, Spa Cycles in Harrogate look to be the best bet, as I can specify my needs and their prices look reasonable too. Has anyone used them, and how did you find the quality of service and product?

Yup. 2 dynohub wheels and they have just re-built an alfine hub into a wheel for me (not used it yet as still waiting for the frame).
Kept breaking spokes with original (locally built) alfine wheel. I don't expect this to happen with the Spa one. I've found them really good to deal with.

I have a Spa dynamo wheel on my hybrid & its been great.Over 2 years old & still true as the day I got it. Was upgrading my wheels on the tourer last year & planned to go with Spa again, but Rose bikes in Germany were considerably cheaper

I have had two sets of wheels handbuilt (one touring/ one racing) from Rose now, both where delivered within a couple of weeks of ordering and arrived well packed and perfectly true. Couldn't have bought the parts in the UK for what they cost made and delivered from Germany.

Looks like I need to check out Rose Bikes then. Thanks for replies.
